The Snows of Khione Ballet Academy, Inc., is a New York–based nonprofit institution dedicated to developing dancers through a structured casting-to-performance pipeline. The Academy combines rigorous classical ballet training with immersive artistic education, integrating music, literature, storytelling, and original works from The Naida Saga into all stages of its curriculum.

Becoming the Snow Ballerina represents the highest artistic achievement within The Snows of Khione Ballet Academy, a role defined by technical mastery, emotional depth, and an exceptional command of storytelling through movement. Much like the revered dual roles of the White Swan and Black Swan in Swan Lake, the Snow Ballerina is a distinction that dancers aspire to over time, earned through discipline, consistency, and the ability to embody the full spirit of the Winter Kingdom. It is not simply a role, but a title, reserved for a dancer who demonstrates the rare balance of strength, control, and artistry required to carry a production at its highest level.
Literature in motion. Tradition reimagined.
Our annual Snows of Khione performance, held on the second Saturday of December, presents a 45-minute original ballet that transforms literature into live performance. Blending classical technique with narrative choreography, the production showcases emerging and world-class talent in a setting that honors tradition while embracing innovation. This performance serves as both a cultural event and an artistic debut platform, introducing audiences to exceptional dancers at the threshold of distinguished careers.
The Books + Music: The Naida Saga book soundtrack is the first of its kind—an original literary soundtrack created by a series of independent musicians and author Lisa K. Stephenson, redefining how stories are experienced beyond the page.
TSK is a structured, global casting‑to‑performance pipeline where elite dancers are selected, developed, and staged in narrative ballet productions that advance their artistic careers. Through a selective, audition-based process, the Academy identifies dancers with both technical strength and artistic potential, guiding them along an intentional path toward performance. Whether preparing for advanced study or deepening their engagement with ballet, dancers train in an organized environment that values precision, credibility, and the ability to bring a story to life on stage.
